Getting started
Paper trading: how it works
Paper trading lets you run the full Alle-Quant agent: real market data, real analysis, real orders, but with virtual money. Nothing touches your real accounts. It is the safest way to learn what the agent does and build confidence before going live.
Free for everyone
Paper trading is available on all plans including the free tier. No exchange connection required. You start with $10,000 in virtual funds, one account shared across all 12 exchanges.
What is simulated and what is real
Real
- Market prices (live from exchanges)
- Agent analysis and reasoning
- Risk checks and kill switch
- Trade journal entries
- Insomnia mode runs
Simulated
- Order fills (assumed at market price)
- Balances (virtual $10,000)
- P&L calculations
- Fill history
How fills work in paper mode
When the agent places an order in paper mode, it is filled immediately at the current market price. There is no slippage simulation. This is intentionally optimistic. In live trading, fills may be slightly worse depending on market conditions and order size.
All paper fills are stored in your local database and synced to the cloud, so your trade history is preserved across devices and app restarts.
Resetting your paper account
You can reset your paper balance back to $10,000 at any time from Settings → Paper Trading → Reset account. This clears all paper fills, positions, and balance history. It does not affect your real accounts.
Going live
When you are ready to trade with real money, click the PAPER badge at the top of the app and switch to Live Mode. You will need a paid plan, a connected exchange with trade permissions, and a daily loss limit set. The agent's behaviour is identical. Only the fills change from simulated to real.
